Account Executive

Are you up for a new challenge with a company that can service strategic retail design and manufacturing? Although our primary objective is to find team members located in the greater Toronto area we are open to hearing from you in all North American markets.

In the role you will be accountable for the following:

  • The development, growth and retention of client relationships, securing new project opportunities encompassing national signage campaigns (screen, digital and litho printing) and retail merchandising initiatives ranging from temporary, semi-perm and permanent display through retail decor.
  • You will need to absorb every detail about your clients retail strategies and apply it accordingly in the services Artisan Complete provides
  • You will be a manager of projects and people while being able to keep your cool under the demands of today’s retail time lines
  • You will have strong knowledge of client needs regardless of medium; signage, display and/or decor
  • You have experience understanding and applying customer needs in line with their budgetary demands
  • You are a strong presenter and enjoy the passion required to deliver a good pitch
  • You work professionally at corporate events and trade shows
  • You won’t wait for an order but will be able to anticipate demand in order to be proactive in the delivery of client solutions
  • You may come from the retail, brand or agency side and could bring insight and experience from this previous role into your next career chapter
  • You have the ability to report on your activities when required to do so either for your client or Artisan Complete
  • You don’t mind travel when required. This isn’t a weekly occurrence in most cases
  • You like to have fun and a laugh whenever and wherever possible - personality is at the top of the requirement list

Ideally you have 5 – 8 years experience in Print and/or Display, Advertising and/or Marketing with either a retailer, brand or agency.

Artisan Complete offers one of the best support structures and compensation packages in the industry. All new Account Executive roles begin as contract and quickly become full-time after the initial review period.

Industrial Designer

Artisan Complete is actively looking to add another Industrial Designer to our team.   • Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in the industry
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years of full-time Solidworks experience
  • Excellent sketching and conceptualizing abilities (do you use sketching to think through concepts and ideas, it is not the quality of the sketch that we are most concerned with, but the thinking behind them)
  • Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, specifically for the POP industry
  • Good understanding of display costs and roughly what those costs are (a $100 display vs. a $300 display vs. a $1000 display)
  • Extensive experience in designing displays with lighting and digital signage hardware would be a definite asset
  • You are a team player, able to work with minimal, and at times multiple directions
  • You are organized and synthesize information quickly
  • Once in a while you don’t mind burning the midnight oil to make that insane deadline

graphic DESIGNER

Artisan Complete is actively looking to add another Graphic Designer to our team. The role of a Graphic Designer at Artisan is to complete creative and production work for Artisan projects under the direction of a senior member of the graphic design team.

Essential job functions:

  • Works with a senior team member to develop concepts and/or designs based on the requirement of the project
  • Renders display images
  • Prepares mounting boards
  • Assembles presentation booklets
  • Readies artwork for press by laying artwork on die lines and uploading final art on to prepress
  • Creates instruction sheets for our industrial and structural teams

Expectations:

  • Demonstrates an ability to develop concepts and graphic solutions that adhere to: project parameters and standards for visual design that foster Artisan’s reputation for creative excellence
  • File preparation for prepress is completed with attention to detail and produced without error
  • Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing the tools of the position i.e. design software
  • Meets timelines assigned to projects through the effective use of time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates teamwork by promoting a work environment where the opinions of others are valued and utilized in decisions; helps colleagues solve problems and accomplish work objectives
  • Keeps abreast of retail marketing innovations and trends incorporating knowledge into the development of concepts and graphic solutions
  • Services internal contacts in a professional, helpful and friendly manner
  • Logging labour time

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge & skills in design software – Photoshop, Illustrator; Indesign and Word
  • Ability to think conceptually
  • Ability to understand priorities and effectively manage workload towards the completion of deadlines
  • Ability to handle detailed production work
  • Knowledge of graphic design, typography and design theory
  • Problem solving skills
  • Communication skills – verbal
  • Knowledge of current graphic design trends
  • Illustration skills are preferable

structural DESIGNER

Artisan Complete is actively looking to add a Structural Designer to our team. The role of a Structural Designer at Artisan is to complete creative and production work for Artisan projects under the direction of a senior member of the structural design team.

Essential job functions:

  • Develops temporary and semi-permanent display concepts and designs that meet client objectives within defined parameters; designs include die layouts for sample making, pallet patterns, shippers and shipping fillers
  • Collaborates with the Creative/Industrial department in the design of displays
  • Shares design with the Sales Representative and when required revises design based on Sales Rep/PM/client feedback
  • Cuts and builds samples, prototypes for client approval prior to production
  • Tests displays for structural soundness prior to production
  • Completes the following production process:
    • Prepares CAD drawings for Estimators to finalize quote and order materials
    • Prepares electronic die layouts for the creative department and outside agencies
    • Forwards die layouts to prepress for screen printing or to outside litho printers
    • Forwards die layouts to die maker
    • Approves production samples
    • Provides direction to production staff on the assembly of displays
  • Photographs displays prior to shipment when requested by the Sales Rep/PM
  • Prepare instruction sheets prior to shipping display

Expectations:

  • Develops concepts and designs which demonstrate: a high level of creative; an understanding of the client’s needs; an understanding of project parameters (brand, cost, structural)
  • Effectively communicates design and packaging details to internal and external contacts ensuring project information and requirements are clearly understood and production errors are kept to a minimum
  • Job responsibilities are performed with a high level of accuracy i.e. cad drawings, die layouts, assembly sheets etc.
  • Uses time effectively, meeting the timelines assigned to a client job and stay if need to complete job assigned to you
  • Effectively utilizes the tools of the job (i.e. computer hardware & software)
  • Communicates in a professional, helpful and friendly manner in dealing with internal and external contacts
  • Keeps abreast of industry innovations and trends
  • Demonstrates teamwork by promoting a cooperative work environment, sharing information and helping colleagues solve problems and accomplish work objectives

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

  • Computer knowledge and skills – CAD (Cimex), Illustrator, Photoshop, CAPE, 3 dimensional programs
  • Ability to think conceptually
  • Ability to visualize and draw bi-dimensionally and tri-dimensionally
  • Basic knowledge of marketing and merchandising at retail; packing, transportation and distribution of displays and consumer products
  • Good sense of aesthetic and cosmetic design
  • Ability to understand priorities and effectively manage workload towards the completion of deadlines
  • Geometry knowledge

Experience:
