Our Environmental Policy

What started with a commitment to reducing solvents 25 years ago has become a commitment to doing business in the most environmentally positive way possible. That includes lowering our VOC emissions and a paper-​and-​plastic recovery program that recycles nearly every piece in production.

Artisan Complete has a proud history of taking a pro-​active approach to environmentally friendly business practices — practices that make a positive impact on our industry, our community, our clients, and their consumers. Through a combination of best practices and an innovative entrepreneurial approach, Artisan Compete offers a safe and healthy workplace for employees in conjunction with minimizing our impact on the environment.

By operating in compliance with environmental and safety legislation, and through the work of our in-​house, inter-​departmental Artisan Green Committee, Artisan Complete has created a framework for setting, evaluating, implementing, and reviewing environmental goals and policy, and further communicating these initiatives to all stakeholders.

Artisan Complete is committed to proactively addressing both environmental concerns and impact from our integrated lines of business, including reducing, reusing, renewing, and recycling materials, supplies, resources and waste; sourcing green alternatives as they apply to materials, process, technology, and product fulfillment; promoting the efficient use of materials and resources through our facilities, including energy consumption, raw materials, and resources; taking all mandated measures to protect human health; minimizing and managing waste; finding packaging and transportation efficiencies; surpassing clean-​air and –water standards; mandating employee education programs; and participating in community sustainability initiatives.
 

Energy Conservation

Energy Star and Low Power Mode are everywhere at Artisan Complete, from presses and lighting to monitors and dryers.
 

Emissions

All ozone emissions created during printing are converted to clean air before exiting our production facility. And when it comes time to transport your project, Artisan Complete delivers with diesel-​powered vehicles.
 

In-​House Production

In-​house production reduces fuel emissions associated with transportation.
 

Ink

From high-​precision metering of ink that eliminates waste to the use of non-​toxic and biogradable UV-​curable screens, Artisan Complete continuously invents ways to limit our environmental footprint.
 

Packaging

All packaging is produced with 100% recyclable materials.
 

Screens

Artisan Complete’s fully automated cleaning system scrubs, re-​images, and reuses stretched screens a dozen times, which minimizes the use of chemicals and the energy needed to print new screens.
 

Shipping Pallet Program

Our shipping pallet program is a perfect example of our commitment to being green. Pallets are repaired and reused until the end of their natural lifespan, when they are then used as heat sources. Not one pallet ends up in landfill.
 

Solvents

Only 12 drums of biodegradable solvent waste reach landfill from our facility each year – less as a result of Artisan Complete’s own formulation of environmentally positive solvent.
 

Substrates

Every item that can be recycled is recycled — 98% of paper, cardboard, plastic, off-​cuts, and over-​cuts. Precision cutting technology and on-​site printing reduce the energy used and promote accuracy, for quantity on demand.

Artisan Complete’s Green Committee identifies, advances, and promotes strategies, policies, and practices within Artisan Complete’s operations. The committee’s goal is to minimize our negative environmental impact and promote initiatives that are environmentally positive.
